Managing Operations and Resources for Optimal Support

Car Seat / SafeKids
Durham County Business Services Division is proud to work with SafeKids of Durham County, a nonprofit organization working to help families and communities keep kids safe from injuries by providing operational support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.

Your Partner in Disaster Preparedness and Response
Durham County Emergency Management leads the community's preparedness, planning, response, and recovery efforts for natural and man-made disasters. Emergency Management (EM) spearheads the County Emergency Operations Plan, coordinating all emergency response activities in the event of an incident. EM is the agency through which the County Board of Commissioners and the Durham City Council exercise the authority vested in them during accidents and disasters.

The Durham County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) brings together agencies and businesses to ensure the community is prepared for chemical emergencies.
